Dr. Kling's Background

Dr. Martinique Kling is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist practicing in Fenton, Michigan. She focused on reproduction and womens’ health while earning her bachelor's degree in physiology from Michigan State University in 2002. Dr. Kling went on to graduate with her medical degree from MSU College of Human Medicine in 2006. She completed residency at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI in 2010, where her love of teaching blossomed, and she was awarded a Resident Teacher Award by the medical students. She has been a practicing general OB/GYN since 2010, and completed her program in Sexuality Counseling & Sexuality Education from the University of Michigan in spring 2020.

Dr. Kling’s areas of interest encompass wide ranging healthy and disease conditions as they relate to pregnancy, reproduction, & sexual function:

general gynecologic care with development of a close working, high trust relationship between patient and provider;

  • postpartum depression and anxiety;

  • sexual changes that occur during pregnancy, postpartum & motherhood;

  • personalized consultation regarding sexual dysfunction, desire & discrepancy issues, painful intercourse and/or medical examinations, and sexual changes during and after menopause; and

  • sexual and reproductive function in patients following injury or trauma, with disabilities, chronic illnesses, disorders of sexual development, and transsexual folks with female anatomy, and those in nontraditional relationships.

Dr. Kling’s passion for patient education to increase understanding of both health and illness is woven into every encounter.  Her greatest joy has been seeing the impact of arming her patients with the information they needed to reduce their fears and misconceptions in pregnancy, during their reproductive lifespans, and beyond.

Dr. Kling has seen the need for women to understand how their bodies and minds must be prepared for sexual encounters to be fulfilling. She is expanding her intimate conversations with individual patients through her counseling practice to bring insight and techniques to improve womens’ sexual lives for years to come.

All Patients Welcome

Dr. Kling specializes in the health care of patients who have breast tissue, vulvas, and/or vaginas - or whatever unique combination of those a person has. If you need a provider who cares for male sex organs, we can help you find one.

Individualized Care

Dr. Kling will do her best to honor the unique history each patient brings with them. If you have been too nervous or traumatized to engage with the medical system, she will work with you to determine what testing and treatments are appropraite for your situation. No procedures will ever be forced, and she will make every effort to be patient and gentle when you are ready to proceed.
